Sacred Software
Water Tower was my first game released. It was written for the uDevGames 2003 contest held annually by iDevGames. The uDevGames contest challenges developers to write a game, start-to-finish, in three months. When the development time is up, games are rated by the general public, and the developers of the highest ranking games win prizes donated by various sponsors.
Water Tower is an old-school action/puzzle game: You're trapped in a room with water rising from the floor. You have to get to the top of the room to escape. Collect keys, gems, and extra lives along the way, but watch out for the deadly blocks, fire blocks, and, of course, the water! Brain-busting puzzles and fast-paced action await.
Water Tower comes with a built-in level editor. You can edit existing levels or create your own from scratch. When your level set is finished, submit it to the Files section to share it with the world. While you're there, try out some level sets built by others, too.
In uDevGames 2003, games were rated in five categories: Gameplay, Graphics, Sound, Polish, and Originality. Out of 43 entries, Water Tower scored 7th in Gameplay, 40th in Graphics, 32nd in Sound, 25th in Polish, and 15th in Originality. It ranked 23rd overall. Not great, but not too bad for my first game ever released.
