Bees Bees was entered into the Flocking challenge at CreateMacGames. Entrants were challenged to create a game in two weeks, making use of a flocking algorithm as a major gameplay element. A flocking algorithm makes moving objects react to each other and stay together in formation.

The game concept evolved as I went along. I didn't have an idea for a game at the beginning of the challenge, but I started working on getting a basic demo with flocking up and running. I figured the idea for the game could come later. This worked out pretty well; silly as the game concept is, I think it's a lot of fun to play.

Because of the limited development time, I decided to use a very simple graphical style for the game. I wanted to make some rudimentary sounds, but I didn't quite have the time.

Contest entries were unfortunately never ranked before CreateMacGames disappeared.
